Dark Light

Change is the wind that softly whispers the promise of new beginnings

The south coast of Turkey awakens as the sun glistens over the azure Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by the towering Taurus Mountains and golden beaches. It is a humid, windless morning in this picturesque gem of both natural beauty and historical charm. Due to the humidity and heat, I choose not to start the day at the front of the house, as always, by the lane with orange trees but rather on the terrace at the back. [ref.] Happiness

The sun slowly rises over the rooftops adorned with water tanks, casting light on a folded umbrella below on a terrace. I stand surrounded by palm trees of varying heights, lush greenery, and towering pines, while narrow streets are lined with parked cars. Up the hill, the majestic Taurus Mountains loom, often shrouded in fog, revealing glimpses of houses and a weather station that keep watch over the landscape. A large, inappropriate tourist sign is built uphill, marking the city, as if it needs that. The sun filters through the mist, sometimes obscured by a veil of clouds. In this moment, I feel the pulse of life and my connection with the place around me—a serene blend of nature, scenery, and the ever-present mountains, inviting me to breathe in the beauty of now. Awakening, also, in all its glory; gentle at its core, fantastical from a different perspective.

Here, a pleasant light breeze is blowing. I watch the view—strange. The world and the perspective from this angle seem different—same yet different. But, comprehensive, holistic, and more complete. A different image of the same location. Does this change my perception of something that has always been there but was never truly seen? [ref.] Coming home  Has it changed, or is it emerging from within myself? In its serene moment, does the mythical phoenix sense that the time for renewal is upon her, or does she embrace the process with instinctive grace, trusting in the rhythm of life?

Later, as I stand at the front of the house, a gentle breeze also begins to blow. A wind whispers softly from the southwest, echoing the gratitude of Queen Cleopatra for the royal gift from Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat, as she once bathed in Alanya’s crystalline waters, where the golden sands still reflect her timeless grace.

~ The wind will always blow, an eternal force of change, guiding the phoenix to her next life ~
